Happy Friday! Well, this was a big week. Inhabit officially launched (woo!), another heat wave crashed the party (in San Francisco, at least) and the Chilean miners finally made their way back up to the earth’s surface. In other news…

Pie Eating Contest at the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival

Local Events

  • This weekend is the 40th Annual Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival, chock full of fun events like pie eating contests, a haunted barn and “Smashing Pumpkins: Battle of the Bands.” Clever. So clever.
  • And up in wine country, two enemies will combine forces for an unforgettable weekend of art, wine tasting and gourmet food during the Napa Sonoma Wine & Food Festival. I believe this will be the first joint-festival of this sort, and with wine tasting events & art shows going on in both valleys, it sounds promising!

Interesting Internet Findings

  • Found a great deal for a cruise around the San Francisco Bay on Travelzoo. I know, I know — those are kinda cheesy and the food is usually mediocre at best, but it’s half off! (At $25/person.) How can you resist? PS: The offer expires in 3 days.
  • So, Starbucks is rolling out a new “2 drink maximum” across the nation over the next month. Baristas are told to steam milk for each drink individually, rather than a whole pitcher to “operate more effectively.” What this means to me is: instead of one employee leaving to go on a coffee run, five will. Hmm.

That’s all for now. Have a glorious weekend, fellow Inhabitants!
